Seabadge Training

Posted January 20, 2006

The Southeast Region Sea Scouting Committee has announced Seabadge SR-26 to be held from Friday, May 12 through Sunday, May 14, 2006 at Camp Tanah Keeta, in Jupiter, FL.

Seabadge is the official advanced adult leader-training program of Sea Scouting and is the next step following Venturing Leader Basic Training and Sea Scout Officers' Specialized Training. The course is designed to provide program specific management techniques that can improve the quality of ship and/or squadron programming. It is an intensely participatory experience for the participants as they interact with one another and the faculty in seminars, workshops, role-playing, and discussions.

Seabadge participants are selected from nominees recommended by their local councils. Any registered Sea Scouting leader who is active in the operations of a ship or squadron is eligible.

Prior to attending Seabadge, one must have completed Adult Venturing Leader Basic Training and Sea Scout Officers' Specialized Training, have actively served in their current registered position in or related to Sea Scouting for at least one continuous year, and be approved for participation by their local squadron.

Fact Sheet and Application Form for Seabadge Conference SR-26 are now available at http://sregion.seascout.org/

The course fee is $120. Applications are due in by 1 April 2006.

For more information contact Vice Commodore Bill Thomas at wthomas@sfsbsa.org or call (954) 461-0536.
